OUR MISSION

The mission of Art (Re)Public is to establish Jacksonville's urban core as a nationally-recognized Art District that will unify the community, elevate the creative spirit and raise the consciousness of the city through the universal language of art.

ABOUT US

To develop a prosperous future, one must first recognize their past.

From the 1860's through the 1930's, Jacksonville, Florida earned the title of The Progressive City, due not only to a thriving arts and culture scene but as a haven where the oppressed flourished.

Jacksonville is a city of Mothers; it was powerful business women who invested in and developed the city, specifically downtown - from our theater's and museums to the Boards of Planning and Health.

We seek to reclaim Jacksonville's hidden history, to re-establish and awaken the city's deep roots in art, culture, music, women's empowerment, and acceptance of diversity.

The Creative Intervention continues. In 2016, the movement’s inaugural year, Art (Re)Public, the 501 (c)(3), literally left a memorable mark throughout the urban core of Jacksonville.
